NCC PROFILE
Year of Introduction of N.C.C. and with number of officers:
N.C.C was introduced in Mariani College in the year 1987. For this introduction, Sri Sanjib Kumar Adhyapak was to appear before the state Selection Board held on 21-03-1987 in the office premises of Director Sports and Youth Welfare, Nehru Stadium, Guwahati. He had undergone Pre commission Training at N C C OTS (Officer’s Training School) Kamptee, Maharastra. He had been allotted with the course No.PRCN/SD/98 w.e.f. 15th June, 1987 to 12th September, 1987. At the end of the course he was awarded the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and a No-NCC/18533. So from 17th September, 1987 Mariani College N.C.C. came into existence.
At the initial stage, 90 cadets were enrolled in Mariani College N.C.C. . The strength of the enrolment was decreased to 50 cadets from the session 1996-1997. It remained unchanged till the session 1998-1999. The strength was increase to 100 cadets from the session 1999-2000 and remains the same till date.
N.C.C. training has been imparted to the cadets in the college on Wednesday, Thursday every week. Two periods of 45 minutes each have been allotted for drill lecture, First Aid etc. Drills lecture have been allotted regularly inspected by Physical and Instructional (PI) staff and N.C.C. officer of the college. N.C.C. officer was called Part- Time Officer (PTO) at the initial stage. But now a days N.C.C. officers are called Associate N.C.C. Officers (ANO)s.

No. N.C.C./18533 Maj. Sanjib Kumar Adhyapak has been serving as an ANO since its inception. Cadets of Matiani College N.C.C. have been showing diligence and enthusiasm while in parades. They perform their duties attributed to them. Many cadets experienced and still experience various camps sttendance within and outside the state. Four cadets attended R/DC held at New Delhi. Five cadets attended BLC/Tiruchirappally. Many cadets attended Rock-Climbing NIC. Army-Attachment camps in different times.C.C. Officers in past and present No. N.C.C./18533 Maj.
